After returning to the United States, she settled in Glen Rock, New Jersey, where she enjoyed being a full time mother to her children and a homemaker for several years prior to returning to employment as a music teacher and working in real estate. In 1982, she moved to Olathe, Kansas, and then in 1985 to Lindsborg, Kansas. She enjoyed partaking in Lindsborg activities. Her faith for her Lord caused Ruth’s life to be marked by service to others; Ruth was president and member of the Retired Church Worker and Meals on Wheels, volunteered with the Lindsborg Hospital auxiliary, and served as a weekday church schoolteacher for over 20 years. She participated in the Bethany College Messiah Music Festival for over 20 years. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
